Chad
Chadian president Idriss Deby on Tuesday fired two of his ministers in a decree read on national radio.
The affected ministers are David Houdeingar, Minister of Mines and Geology and Hamid Mahamat Dahalob, Minister of Land Use.
Although the presidential decree gave no reasons for the dismissal of the two, sources say the ministers are implicated in an embezzlement scandal.
David Houdeingar was a former secretary general at the presidency while Hamid Dahalob has held various positions in the past including the position of Justice minister.
This is not the first time president Deby has fired his ministers.
In January 2012, the president sacked two senior ministers after a joint-venture refinery deal with China National Petroleum went sour.
He also fired the police chief in February 2013 after suspending the entire police force.
